I'm not talking about people who have been in accidents and where the same technology has been used, as that's quite a different situation to the sort of controlled osteotomies used for cosmetic LL; but has there actually been any actual amputations?

I know it's theoretically possible with infection, but I can't find a case of someone it has happened to.

Never heard of such a case, but there are several deaths all related to embolism.

And embolism is all related to intramedullary nails isn't it? Does it have the same chance between fully internal nails and LON/LATN?

Have there been cases of embolism with external only method?

fat embolism is related to intramedullary nails but not pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism can happen with all LL. No difference b/w LON/LATN/Internal in this regard.

Is that fat embolism deaths or from pulmonary? Because I don’t think I’ve heard of any fat embolism deaths besides close calls.
