When people say how tall they are do they go off their height with shoes on or off?

I think that’s how it should be and how I’ve been doing it but I’ve noticed a lot of ppl have been saying their height as being listed with the height when they have shoes on. Even NBA players usually exaggerate about their height and I’ve noticed in 2k22 a lot of guys heights went down by 1 to 2 inches. Crazy what a difference a few inches makes for you psychologically

I play on both platforms being xbox and ps5 but i noticed since a couple years ago they started cracking down on accuracy for the players when it came to their height for example, Wetbrook was 6'4 and now 6'3, Kyrie Irving 6'3 and now 6'2, Derrick Rose 6'3 and now 6'1, Donovan Mitchell 6'3 and now 6'1, John Wall 6'4 and now 6'3. Even Kobe used to always be listed as 6'7 and now hes always 6'6. Lebron James sometimes 6'9 or 6'8. Kevin Durrant is probably the only player who lies about his height to be shorter cause hes liste 6'9, 6'10, 6'11 and theres lots of reports of him being 6'11 or 7'0. Also ben simmons was 6'9 and now 6'11 but i heard he grew at 21 or 22.
