How much time is usually taken in distraction and consolidation phases?

It's quite hard to find information on this on the internet.

I am under the impression that for, for e.g. 6.5 cm in femurs using LON/LATN, around 100 days might be spent in distraction (give or take) and another 6 months or so spent in consolidation.

So it would be around 9 months before the frames came off.

Is this correct, or is it far less than this when using internal methods?

Any clarity shed on the situation would be much appreciated.

Ah, I thought even internals were done with external frames, I must be wrong.

Is the LON/LATN device actually inserted entirely inside the leg then?

Frames come off early for internal methods, after distraction is complete.
