This means that we have an alternative to the usual bone pulling method. It will still require that the bones be initially be broken, but the recovery will be much faster, and the growth plates will work without too much pain since they will naturally expand. No metal implants required, as long as the cartilage tissue can withstand the weight/load. The limiting factor would actually be the stretchability of the muscles and ligaments around the bone.
