"Hello, my name is Bob. I had limb lengthening surgery and was actually born 170cm"
But the notion that you can lengthen 8 cm and your close friends / family won't notice is laughable. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is results, not how you got there. Every stranger you meet, every random girl you meet off Tinder won't know you were surgically enhanced.
Who cares if your friends know? Just own it and live your life.
They will notice. The only question at hand is if you can gaslight or not. 5CM you can maybe create a believable excuse. 8CM...get real. Nobody pops up over 3 inches from "bow leg correction" or whatever other excuse you come up with. And your proportions at 8CM look completely different.
As this surgery becomes more known its going to be harder to get away with even 5CM. Im barely getting away with 3.2. Its already pretty widely talked about.
Again, its up to the individual if that matters or not. For me it was critical to hide it. For others not so much.
I have news for you if you think 5CM or less is not noticable

Just say that your shoes are more higher than the old one and you adjust your posture with pilates.
People worry about what the others will think, it doesn't matter.
