This is the best physiotherapy ever in my opinion.
I don't have a physiotherapist because
1) I am very lazy to go to one at the center. Transportation in crippled state ain't easy and
2) bringing the physiotherapist to your house is way too expensive. I rather save that money - I'm a student
If I stayed near my doctor (I left the country where I had the surgery) I'd probably do physiotherapy and focus intensely on it since you want to get better as much as you can while you're at your main doc's provision.
I do it with crutches. In the start it was slow, but now I'm able to do it at half the time a normal person does it - basically meaning that my friend walks 2km in the time it takes for me to walk 1km.
Still a great exercise, I recommend it. Just don't push yourself too hard.

Update:
I still do this at 4cm with monorails
Just lol at the superstitions 'Oh monorails are the worst to lengthen' and bla bla
I have zero ballerina or sings of it and I don't use physiotherapist.
