Is fibula nonunion a big problem for function of the legs?

I dont think so, Kilohan had that issue after external tibial lengthening and he could walk well because fibula doesnt affect Weight bearing.

We see often that the fibula osteotomy is done on the distal site of the fibula, is it possible to do the fibula osteotomy on the proximal site of the fibula?

Lots of neurovasculature around the proximal fibula head so that might make it more difficult
