Hey guys and gals, I’m 6 days away from finishing my 3CM lengthening and tibia correction using TSF (externals). Right now my right feet is having random spasms of sharp pain especially on the big toe. Not sure if this is nerve pain but if I massage the back of my leg it gets worse. Any idea if this is normal during lengthening?
Thank you
It’s common. I’m lengthening my tibias and probably 2 weeks ago I felt nerve pain on my left big toe during stretch. PT told me to ice my left feet and the nerve pain was gone after a few days. In my case it’s gone but even if it gets worse it usually won’t be a big problem. Nerve pain is very common. You can try to ice your toes when you feel pain, and then apply heat to help nerve repair.
You should also let your surgeon know. Nerve pain is something that needs to be monitored. Slowing down helps if it gets too bad.

Thanks I’ll get to that ASAP!

Will do! Is there anything I should lookout for when it comes to the pain?
