What do you guys think of this.

It looks like fear mongering. I think a lot of people have great recovery with this. Thoughts?
I'm going to do 5cm with Paley and think it is safe.
Quote from: LLshouldbebanned on April 09, 2019, 08:37:12 PMThose of you who think there are many people with a great recovery are delusional. You want LL so bad that you ignore all the red flags. I'm a former patient, and I can confirm this surgery is not a joke. I know I won't be very popular in this forum but I think LL for cosmetic reasons should be banned. LL should be done ONLY in cases of discrepancies or constitutional short stature (standing height less than 3 standard deviations below the mean). In other cases risks are not worth the possible benefits.
Theres a lot of proof of great recovery for people who did reasonable amounts. May I ask who your doctor was and how much you lengthened? I am very sorry if it went bad, but yes there is objective proof of many making great recoveries. I think 5cm with a top doctor Is reasonable.
Wish you the best.
Quote from: BeYourBest on April 10, 2019, 03:08:13 PMHey, can you show me this proof, please? I am particularly interested in people who did "reasonable amounts".
Also @ Fodawupa, I also appreciate your concern for Ned, but you are not his dad, let him do his thing. I lost count how many times you said "please". I doubt he will listen to you. As you can see from Ned's posts, he has done extensive research and I am very sure he will not go anywhere near 6cm.
Don't get me wrong, your concerns are welcomed but this user in particular knows the dangers.
So by reasonable amounts I guess I mean 5cm or less, and also choosing a very top end doctor and getting in peak physical fitness before even doing the surgery.
The first 2 or 3 pages of the patient experiances section has some recent Paley patients that are loving life.
Paley also has some info on his site about doing follow ups with a large number of patients (the mean was 5 years for time after recovery that he interviewed them) and all of them were happy with the outcome.
Even as of 2019 the technology is advancing with stryde and things are getting better.
Dont get me wrong this is some serious but with hard work and determination you can get taller and get on with your life
