Quote from: DanishViking on October 07, 2023, 07:33:23 AMThe healthcare in Vietnam is way worse and they only do Tibia LON which is the unsafest thing you can do. If you screw up the tibia+fibula alignment with 2-3mm you with arthisis according to Paley... But no problem guys. When I'm the 3-4 one leaving a verified review of my positive experience with AFA, you guys will hopefully start to realise the ugly truth that not all Turkish surgeons are crap.
Good luck to you guys going with dr Birkholtz who live in the western side of the world, getting home within an 20 hour period with 3 connecting fligths while being crippled.
Good luck with your surgery in Turkey DanishViking. I will follow your diary.
Is Turkey a good choice for limb lengthening surgery?
In fact, you can apply to extend your visa and return home only when you have fully recovered and regained your normal walking pace. Many of Dr. B's patients have done the same and they have all done well.
I know but that would be even more costly. I don't know how many people I have read about who doesn't catch their connecting flights. Again his not a bad option except the location. But in my life situation I only have this one year to do LL and don't have anymore money to spend than the about 50000 dollars I'll need with them. Don't have another 75000 dollars if I will have to stay their for 4-6 months...
But I'm going to write a diary once I finished my lengthening process so expect to read about me in January 2024
Good luck. man

You do realize you can get someone at the airport to push you in a wheelchair, right? Like they will get someone who works at the airport to either drive you in a little golf cart or push you to exactly where you need to go. Missing your connecting flight is rare. I say this as someone who usually flies at least 30 times in a year...
Getting around in the wheelchair is pretty easy (even without help).

Does Afa in Turkey lengthen using the Precice max method?
afa will have precice max but not anytime soon. turkey is a great place for nail removal i think. it is also great with having a visa and visitation i heard.
From someone that almost did lengthening at AFA, but didn't do so because of a much bigger risk of complications, I honestly feel like the doctor Mustafa Uysal from AFA is pretty knowledgeable and honest. He could have lied to me, but he was honest and told me the truth in details about why this surgery puts me even more at risk of unwanted complications. I have renouads syndrome, very thin bones (he wasn't sure the nail was going to fit) and duckass to begin with... But when it comes to his experience level, their is more experienced doctors out there, that would make more sense to go with, IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY.
