My parent's are helping me move back home tomorrow so that I can put all my income toward saving up for leg-lengthening surgery
I should be able to save up close to 1k USD per week until I can finally get the surgery
I can't believe this is finally going to become a reality!
I am 176cm tall (dead average), but am going to lengthen 6cm's on my tibia's and 6cm's on my femurs to get to 188cm (6 foot 2).
I am going to try freelance in my spare time to save up even faster!
By midyear I should be under way

Hi Tiny,
I am going to lengthen at a safe pace and keep the maximum lengthening of each bone to very safe limits (6cm each).
I don't believe that much if any athleticism is lost if you do things safely.
You are correct that I am in my 20's
After a year of lengthening and recovery I should have lot's of athletic years ahead of me
I agree that it is nice to be starting out at an average height. I do have friends that are shorter than average, and one that is much shorter, and it is sad the effect that it can have on their lives. Heightism is a very real and sad cultural issue that needs to change.
But I also have friends that are taller than me, and one friend around 6'5", and I can say with certainty that there are many benefits to being above average as well.
Being above 6 foot is a definite positive in the dating game, and management and CEO jobs are dominated by people above 6 feet:

There is indeed a risk involved. But I am going to be as safe as I can and not push any limits. Hopefully I can come out of the other side with not much if any negative impact, but a whole lot of positive from standing a bit taller than almost everyone else
Quote from: hghguy on January 19, 2019, 12:32:09 PMYou have such a loser mindset. If hes dream is to be 6’2 or it is something he want to have in his life why he should not do it? Do you understand that you are beta male who kills other people dreams?
Yes. It is my dream to be tall again
I was 5'8" before I was 13 years old. I hit puberty and had my growth spurt early, so I spent a few years being the tallest or second tallest in my friend groups. It was awesome. People treat you differently when you're tall.
But then I completely stopped growing and almost everyone caught up and I just faded into the crowd. Literally after I turned 13 I only grew 2 more cm's.
I would like to experience what it is like to be one of the tallest in the room again
At 173cm and still growing you're close to my height too! You could do the same thing
Quote from: IwannaBeTaller on January 19, 2019, 03:30:22 PMHey, 6 cm is not a safe limit for the tibias. 6 cm lengthening in femurs also mean you will be about 5 cm taller.
Oh, okay. What is a safe limit for tibia's?
And thank you for making me aware of the femur fact. How does the 1cm disappear from total height?
Quote from: TruthBomber on January 20, 2019, 10:42:48 AMThis is bad. And now people who are actually 6'2'' like me will have to get LL just to get to 6'4'' so I can outcompete you again. *sigh* oh well, sucks that I have to shell out 50 grand, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Haha, yes. Life is one big competition like that
Average height is not a bad starting point, but I am a bit jealous that my goal height is your starting. But 6'2" will put me in the top 5% of male height for western countries and top 2% globally, so I'll take what I can get
Quote from: Adam Levine on January 20, 2019, 02:18:32 PMDiff. regions have diff. average heights,so maybe he's rather short in his region.
I am average for my region, but it is a good point for sure, that others in the 170 range may be from Scandinavian and Nordic countries, where 180+ is average.
I do have height dysmorphia though, because for a longtime I was above average height until I suddenly stopped growing.
Quote from: hghguy on January 21, 2019, 08:59:24 AMMany bodybuilders have used 10+years megadoses of gh. Im doing like 2 years.
Doing this is counter-intuitive if you are not spacing the HGH shots out throughout the day. High spikes in growth hormone which occurs during growth spurts is what triggers and starts the process of epiphyseal plate ossification (growth plate closure).
People with gigantisism caused by pituitary tumors grow so large without this problem because the excess growth hormone is slowly but continuously released, not all at once like artificial injections.
Not that I am in anyway recommending hormone manipulation, but it is why slow-release peptides are a much better, and cheaper option, than growth hormone injections. They emulate the effects of what people with gigantisism suffer, negating the early onset of growth plate closure that you will otherwise experience.
@juiceslikewine - I am so jealous of the extra cm you have on me right now! xD Any extra help by mother nature is nice!
Quote from: TruthBomber on January 20, 2019, 03:40:46 PMWell, it literally is. My height currently holds advantage over you in dating market. If you gain to my height I won't have that advantage anymore, but don't worry - I have the money and the guts to do LL at top doctors tomorrow if I decide so. And I won't stop at 6'4'', 6'6'' or go home.
If this is true, congratulations. Unfortunately I am starting with less than $1000 saved, but I'm thankful for my parents taking me back in so I can save. Fortunately some of the top doctors in the world are also some of the least expensive, so 6 months solid saving should be more than enough
We're all going to get there
If you are only considering limb-lengthening for the dating market, please take a look at this link though:
https://www.quora.com/Whats-the-ideal-height-for-men
Surveys have determined the ideal male height according to women to be between 5'11" and 6'2" with interest sharply dropping before and after those points.
At 6'2" you'd be at the peak already for female interest.
But if you'd like to also lengthen for other reasons, than that is an entire different story and I'd look forward to seeing the diary of your lengthening experience
