Did anyone here get bowlegs corrected while lengthening? My bowlegs aren't too pronounced but obviously there. I guess external tibias would be the best method for this. I don't think femurs would have an effect on bowlegs. Has anyone done this? With whom, and how did it go?

Quote from: HeightGain on August 14, 2021, 08:47:51 PMBowlegs are an issue if they cause a mechanical axis issue. Femur lengthening can correct this to some extent.

Can be done internal or external

Could you explain what you mean by mechanical axis issue?

Quote from: Medium Drink Of Water on August 15, 2021, 01:00:31 AMYou can lengthen and straighten at the same time with an Ilizarov frame.

The other lengthening methods can only correct very mild bow legs.  If you use them you'll need to address the bow legs with a separate surgery.  A fellow Beijing patient from Florida with this very issue said Paley wanted to do two surgeries for him, and insurance would've covered the straightening one, but he wanted to pay less and only have one surgery so he went to China.

So it has to be external tibia? Can you do LATN or does it have to be fully external, with the long wait to recover?

Quote from: Growing on August 17, 2021, 04:22:54 AMIm getting my legs straightened. I have knock knees this is opposite of bowed and looks worse. Especially wearing slim fit pants. Its a feminine stance for a man. I'm more excited about getting nice straight legs than getting taller. I'm into fashion and Id finally be able to wear the type of pants I like without looking silly. To be honest, when it comes to bowed legs, I personally thing it looks great if now on the extreme side. Anytime I've seen someone with bowleg correction it doesn't look great.

What was the issue with the bowleg correction people?
