Hi Everyone,

Today is the 14th day after my surgery and I will start writing something on here. English is not my first language but I will try.

Surgeon: not sure if he likes to be in public or not prefer not to tell
Nails: Fitbone
Part: Femur
Target: 5cm

I was discharged on the 7th day after my surgery and currently doing my right one at 1.5mm/day and left one 1mm/day.
(Because the reaction of my right one is pretty strong and left one not much feelings.)
Was wondering anyone of you guys have the problem that the rod isn't lengthening and need the reoperation? (This is what i am concerning of my left one)

Non-weight bearing.
The problem is I can only feel my right leg lengthening but not the left one.
From my first review with my doctor this week, he was pretty sure my right one is lengthening but left one his tone sounds less confident, that's why he suggests me to increase the rate of my left femur.

From the other thread on fitbone nails isn't the larger diameter fitbone nail 100kg weight bearing?

My doctor said Fitbone is non-weight bearing, I think he said this to ensure I wouldn't crack the nail during the lengthening period.
But it's ok, now I am now at 70% of my journey, only two weeks to go.

Hi sd3218688
Just curious, why fitbone and not precice?

Did the doctor do retrograde nail insertion (knee insertion)? How are the scars below the knee?

is lengthened amount in the machine matching the number on the xrays?

BTW
Some tools maybe useful for you to get through this journey:
1. Hot water bottle(relief the pain from the legs and your back)
2. Pain relief patch for your back
3. Constipation treatment like Movicol (constantly sitting and lying on the bed will cause constipation)
4. Pain relief medicine (Except for Oxy, Pananol or Nurofen would help to reduce the nerve pain)

Now I am at 3.4cm, only 16 days left. Hooray!!!

if you do not mind, can you please answer any of these questions?

I am particularly curious to know about scars on or below the knee

thank you
