I am asking for a friend in Thailand who doesn't want to leave the country to do this surgery due to the COVID risk
He's debating whether to do the surgery at his home country or to wait until the COVID situation is better

Talk to doctor and decide yourself. How can people on this forum judge an anonymous doctor in thailand? This question is dumb.

If you go for price you will often pay a bigger price by going cheap.  Here is my best recommendation, get references from the doctor and review well on this website.  There are some very crafty docs that hustle business on this website in the form of innocent patients.  If you read enough of the comments here you will know who they are but not many.  Money has a way of influencing doctors....I cannot say that enough.  The post op period is horrible and frustrating so plan that out!
