Quick question:
Are all the anesthesiologists quirky and seem to be in a rush everywhere they go?
Cause Just as I was reaching deep sleep at 1 AM the dear anesthesiologists came busting through the door, kinda like the "FBI, open up" meme.

Hey Jokerhastowait congrats on your journey ahead of my question.
How will you describe the pains of LL?
For instance if childbirth's pain level is 10/10, how much is the value of LL's pain level?
sleep tight brother you’ll wake up at the start of a NEW EXCITING JOURNEY. see you when you get to istanbul
It's been 10 hours since I had the surgery, and the pain is almost no-existent. I was expecting to be in really bad pain for the first hours. I think this is due to good pain management protocol they use. But it's been only 10 hours. Might get worse later.
Regards
Sure thing
it's always nice to have people with the same goals beside you.
Congrats on having the surgery! Wishing you all the best!
What painkillers are you taking?
Honestly, I'm not sure but whatever it is it's super effective
Hello there!
It's been 3 days since my surgey, and the pain so far has been manageable. I always thought pain was the biggest obstacle after LL, but I was wrong. The fact that you go from being fully autonomous to a bedridden semi crippled person has a worse impact on your psychology than pain. This is not a procedure to go through alone, please bring someone with you at least for the first 2 weeks untill you can move around. There are many hardships during the first days that may make your rethink weather you've made a sane decision to undergo this surgery. Please note that if you do not have a strong reason behind getting this procedure, then you might easily tap out when things get hard.
I tried walking around today, and after 10 steps , my body lost all it's energy and I couldn't focus anymore. It's funny cause I used to run half-marathons before the operation and still have some energy left, but this is on another level of exhaustion. I had to sleep for 2-3 hours untill I could function again.
Yesterday, they removed the catheter and oh boy it was not a good feeling. It's a fast intense burning sensation that stars from deep down the urethra up to tip of the penis. Not gonna lie that moment might have been more painful than the pain from the osteotomy site.
AFA has been really attentive and caring with regards to my requests so far. Just like for Jlk, they also sent me a bag of goodies and chocolate which I've been devouring for the past 2 days. It's really nice of them to do that. Dr.uysal visits me 2 times a day to see if I have any questions/ worries. I'll tell you guys, if your serious about this procedure go with a surgeon who is attentive and actually visits you after the initial operation. Cause LL is not a sprint, it's a marathon.
Day 5
I'd have never assumed taking a dump would be this hard. I was literally sweating so much trying to get those hard as rock feces out of my system. But once they were out, I felt like I was in heaven. So, here's my tip for folks who want to relieve themselves after being virtually stagnant for almost a week: take your time! Listen to a relaxing music. Do not push too hard otherwise you might get fissure scars, which trust me is not a pleasant feeling. After they're out continue sitting on the toilet in case some of them decided to arrive late to the party.
Sleep wise, I have not been sleeping well lately. Since im always lying on my back, it has started to hurt and therefore makes me uncomfortable to sleep on it for too long. So what I do from time to time is to adjust the angle of my bed so that my back doesn't have to be in a single position for an extend period of time. One other strange thing I've noticed happening is when I'm one the verge of sleep one or both of my legs start to involuntary make sudden moves. Kinda like pushing down with force. I don't know what causes this, and it's so annoying cause It literally is the single reason I can't get enough sleep. I have some theories why this is the case: maybe the legs have not gotten used to ilizarov frames, so they react by making sudden moves? Or maybe I'm having side effects from some of the drugs they've been giving me over the last 5 days ? I would appreciate if someone can give me advice on how to resolve this issue
One other problem I have is I easily get dizzy and lose energy after walking for some time. This is due to my low hemoglobin levels, and I've been getting iron injections twice a day. Doctor anticipates the problem to be resolved in 7-10 days. So fingers crossed. My left knee has also been swollen from day one, which has been getting better by applying Ice and compression bandages over it.
I do not have pain at this point, but the discomfort is killing me.
P.S
I post more detailed pics of my fixators and recovery on my IG, if interested you guys can follow my journey on there, too
Cheers
