What is the reason for this?

Why aren't internals better for Tibia?

Why aren't internal femurs safer than external tibia?

There is no risk of internal infection or fat embolism with external tibia. With internal femur there is a small risk of both. These two things have resulted in the most deaths of LL patients that have died. You completely eliminate the risk of death from the two most common occurrences by switching to external tibia. Also external tibia has been done for a long time and doctors have a ton of experience with it.

Oh there is a risk of deep infection with external tibias also
Have to choose a right doctor who can detect problems at very early stages when something bad happens
