You don't need to be tall to be atracttive LOL at 178 you will be definetely NOT short, your height wont be an advantage NEITHER a disadvantage
As a 178 cm guy I can say that, live with this height is generally comfortable, never felt like a short guy, maybe only do feel not tall enough few times, like "if I was 5-10 cm taller life would be better"

178,5cm completely happy with height..but i admit my goal was 180cm.
As preferred height id say 175-185 that would be optimal
