I am looking for some advice on precision nail procedure...I broke my femur 30years ago on my 23th birthday after being knocked down by a drunk driver after 6 month fell over and re fractured same bone....didn't notice pain untill early 20s now hit 40s boy don't i suffer...finally broke down abt pain and was refered for all scans and 3.5cm decrepency has impacted over 30 years of wear and tear on knee and spine arthritis bulging disc degeneration of the spine knee arthritis no ligament and bone on bone where my axis is altered.....being a woman a raised shoe didn't always help.... fashion..styles early 90s put me off flip flops etc hurt my back to flat so my reasons are so far from what people are on here so I'm trying way out my options as I hav ed these aliment to consider my recovery as most of you guy are healthy.....this seems to be a fairly new procedure and I'm having it a hospital in East London. ....
Need to make a decision soon....precision nail procedure

Hi everyone well I finally took the plunge and had the op....wow its amazing how technology can actually work they it does in these situations....on this forum I'm pretty new and majority are considering this op purely for vanity reason unfortunately mine was for quality of life after suffering with osteoporosis and degeneration in b the spine a n d grade 4 arthritis in the r knee...so I only needed to achieve 3.5 cm which is small in comparison to some peeps on here....I have a nail inserted thro the knee that is aligned with my hip with a telescopic rod that rotates internally using a magnetic device that's programed to lengthen me 0.33mm 3 times a day. I'm currently at the 2cm stage.....the only issue I have is physio they have neglected me which now has resulted in my knee on ly having a 20 degree angle at this stage I should be 90....we have decided to do a mua....manipulation under general to do a full rotation and bend ...my knee is painfully but other than that everything is fine it does ache once u legthening but as my knee was so degenerative it's a bit of both physio and lack of strength.....so this Thursday is when I will endure this painful procedure and get the right after care.....the scarring is healing perfect and no infections etc and dissolveable stitches phew.....good luck to all who are considering or going thro the stages take care jayne
Hi I can't weight bear only touch toe with crutches I suppose I'm at the stage of resting and stretching and keeping myself relaxed for mua thursday but over all I could move my leg straight after surgery it felt heavy but only had bandage. ....the wounds are feeling a bit tight so stretching is sore as it feels likes it's going to split but that's a common sensation.....can do almost everything post op other than weight bear and that should start within the month to start weight bearing once considation starts......its amazing but it's d ore and ache but I was in so much pain before I can already feel thd difference on lower back and neck and that just by being realigned....I did get this procedure on the NHS in England and apart from physio being the biggest let down I can't complain it's early doors and th here are days u feel fustrated but nothing stays the same forever so now I'm trying to find advice on anti inflammatory as I can't take them as I have ulcerative colitis has anyone tried turmeric with prescription drugs any advice would be much appreciated😉
