That is the simple aspect. The issue is, what if a non-union or another disaster happens? You will require another surgery, typically your doctor will be ready to conduct this.

I would recommend staying in touch with your LL surgeon in case complications such as non-union arise. It’s crucial not to be uninformed throughout the process, and the doctor should be actively involved in this aspect as well.
