I am considering getting femur LON to become 178 at least

1. Do I have to stay at the same city as my doctor during the whole process or can I stay at my home and send them xrays as email?
2. How common is getting infection during this process?
3. Will an ordinary orthopedic doctor do fine inspecting my xrays? (in case I need to stay at the same city as my surgeon but it is not possible for me so can I get surgery from a good surgeon and continue the process with an ordinary orthopedic doctor and ordinary physiotherapist?)
4. How much time do I have to wait for removal of external devices if i want to lengthen 6-7 cm (2.5-2.75 inch)?
5. How long will it take me to turn back to normal? (walking, kneeling, running, squating etc.)
Thank you.

Superfacial infections are common in LON.
Thank you for your answer. Can doctors at my city help me with infections? How can I fight with infections happening and how can I cure them? (antibiotics or some sort of extra surgeries to cut them off)

Quote from: goingtall on September 07, 2023, 12:40:34 AMI'm going to have the surgery (LON FEMUR) in a city 200 miles from mine and I plan to go back to my home about 30 days after the surgery.

Then go back to the doctor's city only every 10 or 15 days, except if things get ugly.
i have a similar plan too(lon femur), mine is around 250 miles. Getting infections and malunion scares me though.
