1. Where did you have it done?

2. What did they do specifically?

3. What do you wish they did instead?

The PT in Athens now is really good and the other patients here agree with me. I think I will continue physio in the USA after leaving Athens. I think that putting the Athens physio center in contact with the USA one should be good enough, not sure. I have heard that another patient went back home and felt the PT's at home didn't push him hard enough, though I'm not sure if that means they used less force or what.

Unrelated to that, in Athens, we just ask the PT's for more painkillers when we run out-- I have to think in the USA it is more of hassle and expense to get them. I found the painkillers useful to take in the hours right before physical therapy

I'm assuming that the manual stretching the PT does on you is the most important thing? I did gnail femurs. I also liked the electricity, pressure machine, and ice wraps though. I feel like the stationary bike can be done anywhere even outside the PT place, any good gym with that machine or a home device. And I feel that a swimming pool is just as good if not better than an antigravity treadmill (except if you want to do incline walking or watch your gait with a camera)

Quote from: readyprecisestryde on December 20, 2022, 04:02:42 AMThe first physio I went in my home town was horrible. He was judgmental and did not push me. I stopped going there and found a very good place by calling around and doing my research. The new guy cared and put me on a routine to build my muscles and I was able  to walk without waddling gait and looking tight. He  gave me different treatments at the end of every physical therapy session  to get rid of the pain.

That's great that it worked out! When you found the second guy, what did you find to be the most useful things to communicate to him?

I did not take any pain pills after the 2nd week of surgery besides gabapentin because of nerve pain.

Curious, what did he do for the pain? In Athens they apply electricity + have cold ice wraps
