Going to the Viet doctor Dr Quynh, but they do LON mostly on tibia and femur. Am concerned with deep bone infection risk which I heard is always higher when doing LON. What can be done to prevent deep bone infection, and what is the chance I will get one? Thanks!

The risk is different from clinic to clinic. The better the team is at post-op care and cleaning the pinsites the lower chances of deep infection. But LON also has many other disadvantages while only having 2 main advantages: weightbearing and cost.

Thanks! Seems like LON doesn't have that many benefits over Precise2. I'd rather save up some money and do the surgery with a good surgeon versus fking myself up.

I'm mostly concerned about the risks regarding deep bone infection. I heard that is super common with LON.

In Vietnam, you can request disinfection almost every day.

So if you say you can take care of yourself, it's health and food.

Many people don't like the food, so it's better to prepare money for delivery.

LON is an antiquated method of LL.  Save up and do an internal method with a good surgeon.

It is way too expensive. I'd like to get it done ASAP because I'm moving to a Nordic country soon and I won't have time to get the surgery done. Internals are min 50k, aren't they?

LON can confer at least an extra 2cm of length on femur. I'm wondering if it's worth the infection risk to go this route over Precice 2. Cost isn't an issue for me. It's like playing Russian roulette.

Dr. Donghoon Lee does LON, and he is well-known as one of top LL surgeon. I think doing LON with him will be safer than doing it with Turkish doctors.
