also, What about a commode (basically a seat with a bucket to poop in)?

Are they worth it? What else can you get to make it more comfortable to be on wheelchair for two weeks then crutches for 2-3 months?

Never heard of it. Shower chair...for example?

Yes both of those will make the first couple weeks post surgery bareable, I can't imagine having to go through the first few weeks without those two tools.

There's no difference between a normal chair and a shower chair except the hype that surrounds the latter to rip you off.
