I know this sounds dumb, but...
what if there was a Precice that had 3 segments instead of 2 so that distraction could theoretically happen twice as fast?
Im sure Stryde could be easily programmed to do 2mm per day instead of 1mm. The limiting factor is your soft tissue. 2mm would be murder on your muscles/joints/tendons.
Wouldn't 2mm give you a nonunion? It happens sometimes even at 1mm.

Even if it doesn't, you will ruin your soft tissues so much that you'll have permanent disabilities.
So there is no reason to lengthen so fadt and also no respectable doctor will allow it.
I vaguely remember something like this happening with Ilizarov frames. There was a doctor somewhere who'd break the leg in two places and use a frame configured to lengthen in two places.
Could be good for keeping someone with poor bone growth in the frames for less time.
The soft tissues are the limiting factor. Remember the soft tissues aren't being distracted they are being stretched.
Even if you have two sites of breakage, the soft tissues are one long piece with and will be stretched at a rate of 2mm per day while your two sites of breakage are distracted at 1mm/day each.
This will be devastating for your soft tissues. You'll likely get scarring/fibrosis and lose a lot of function. If anything we should learn how to be able to distract slowly without premature consolidation. That will allow us to get as close to 100% recovery as possible, since the soft tissues will have time to stretch and grow.
From talking with tibiae patients...the soft tissue pain is already high from an internal nail. I couldn't imagine doubling that pain and as others have said--you would be causing immense fibrosis and just plain tearing your legs apart.
