Quote from: ll.patient on June 27, 2023, 10:05:23 AM1 year after removal femur and still not walking with normal gait, its slowly getting better, but apparently very slow

Muscles don't seems so "weak" because I can do a lot of squats, and Drs. say that my bone is well no problem there

Is this 1 year something in the normal range and somehow "acceptable"? Am I still expected to heal?

It's more than just glutes and quads. Have you been strengthening all the stabilizing miracles?
You do stuff like this:

You can do that type of exercise in 4 different directions on each leg. That might help. Hope you're walking normally soon.

Just know theres a big difference between "walking normally" as in people wont think you look weird....and actually feeling normal and strong again.  A lot of people on here downplay their situation.  Dont push this procedure to its limit, be safe.  If you do lets say 7CM its probably going to take you a couple years to really feel something close to normal again.  However you will likely walk with a normal gate and feel pretty good sooner than that.

It varies from person to person. I did over 7cm and was back to normal better than friends who never had any surgery after just 7.5 months. Most people don't put much effort into their rehab tbh

Quote from: DanishViking on June 26, 2023, 12:21:19 PMSo when can I start walking without a weight bearing nail (Precice) with a not perfect gait? 5 months in?

For femurs only, my PT says as early as 4 months on Precice if you put the work in.

Thanks

This exercise, even with heavy ankle weights I also can do easily

Is there more recommended?

I also do clumshells with elastic bands, which also target similar muscles (middle glutes)
