LL friends and Team, probably this is the last time I will harp on this (because I am fed up with people propagating misinformation with half cooked data/from something they heard form somewhere without actually communicating with surgeon) - Rozbruch's cost is around $125k and the insurance thing (reducing cost to half) begin discussed is a plain and simple lie/misinformation, so do not live in wonderland and waste your time discussing something that does not exist. done.

ShortLivesMatter and I will be Dr. Rozbruch upcoming patients so I guess we can give some update on the surgery costs once we get the surgery done in nearby future.

The reason why there is this mention of "half cost surgery" is because Dr. Rozbruch will initially give you a quote for just surgical fee of ~$75k after your first consultation. The hospital bill will be billed (billed by HSS facility, not Rozbruch office?) to you after the surgery is done. It seems like hospital is indeed being covered for by insurance as a few of past Dr. Rozbruch patients have pointed out, and I hope it still remains true till now.

I am still uncertain as to how much I will be paying ultimately, since I have some hopes that my medical condition which have studies that indicate being a cause of short stature will result in better insurance claims on some of the expenses. Anyway I agree that one should always be prepared financially for surgery like this.

I've been contacted by quite a few members asking about when Dr. Parihar, or the Indian market in general, will have the STRYDE nail. Believing this market will offer the lowest prices. The math says the Indian market will not be able to offer much lower prices than already exist in Europe with Dr. Giotikas.

The reason why is the STRYDE nail is $40-$45k U.S. Dollars for two nails. Tibia nails are slightly more expensive than femur nails. Then you have to add on tariffs/taxes that the Indian government imposes on imported medical devices. After the tariffs/taxes are added, just the price of the nails will be ~$50k.

Dr. Giotikas is already offering STRYDE lengthening for ~$50k, including physical therapy. So unfortunately, waiting until Dr. Parihar, or the overall Indian market offers STRYDE, is not going to lead to any significant cost savings.

I've received quite a few questions about the following topic. That topic is "What doctors allow me to lengthen at home with STRYDE?" It's easier to just post the answer here in this thread, rather than answering each message individually. Keep in mind that all doctors suggest you stay in the immediate area for the first two weeks after surgery.

The answer to this question depends on where you live. If you live in the U.S. or Canada, and you are considering the doctors in the U.S., then all the doctors allow you to lengthen at home, even Dr. Paley.

Having said that, Dr. Paley strongly prefers that you stay in Florida for the duration of your lengthening, but if you discuss this option with him during your consultation and he feels you are responsible enough to continue your physical therapy on your own and return every 2 weeks for x-rays, he might allow you to lengthen at home. It's completely at his discretion. You'll receive a pro rated refund on the physical therapy if you are allowed to lengthen at home. Dr. Debiparshad also issues a pro rated refund on physical therapy if you lengthen at home.

Dr. Donghoon Lee allows you to lengthen at home if you are a local patient. Thereby, paying the surgery only price. International patients stay at his clinic as part of his 90 day all inclusive package price.

Dr. Kohne is reported to allow his European patients to lengthen at home.

Dr. Giotikas seemed open to the idea for his European/North African/Southwest Asian patients, depending on how his initial patients respond to lengthening with STRYDE. So i'll classify him as TBD.

Dr. Mahboubian's pricing has updated from what is posted. I didn't ask them yet if it was okay to post and also didn't want anyone to get the wrong impression by posting it myself. just fyi
