Hello,

Many probably recognize me on here by now.  My surgery is in about a week with Betz/Becker.

I have started to think about the consolidation phase and how to get back up to speed as fast as possible.  I went through many journals today of prior LL patients.

One item that seems to keep getting brought up is weak glutes that makes walking harder.  And apparently its a slow process to build them.

With this in mind and just overall weak legs, Im exploring supplementing with either peptides or steroids.  I dont think I could get hold of HGH even if I wanted to in the US and the side effects seem harsh but I dont know a lot.

The peptide that many recommend is BPC-157 but I know there are others.  And for steroids I suppose Deca?

Right now I am leaning towards just taking peptides but am curious on other general opinions on this topic.  Does anyone have experience or suggestions?

Thanks.

Yeah ive heard BPC157 and TB500 combo before.  Ill prob end up doing this actually.  I hope it actually does something and its not just placebo.  Good to know it worked for you though.

Its actually really surprising this stuff isnt talked about more on this site.  This stuff is being consumed by athletes and celebrities to recover faster, clearly theres something to it if they're all doing it.

Quote from: oldiebuttbaddie on January 03, 2023, 06:56:54 PMDoes this only help with bone consolidation?  I'm assuming you should only do this after lengthening is complete?  But it doesn't seem like bone consolidation is an issue with most people.  Are you aware of any peptides that would help with the other aspects of recovery i.e. ligaments stretching, muscle, and pain?

Ill probably do a deeper dive on peptides 2 months from now when Im getting ready for consolidation, but just pulling up random info it looks like it speeds up recovery for basically everything including bone: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29998800/

Yes, you'd want to do this after the lengthening is complete to avoid potential early consolidation.

As you mentioned, I will not be doing this during lengthening (to avoid early consolidation) but peptides are angiogenic (they form new blood cells in tissue).  I wonder if doing a small amount even through lengthening would help counter scar tissue from forming.  Or maybe even allow people to lengthen faster with full doses.  Way too early to be experimenting with this, I def wont be the guinea pig.  But its something that should be explored for future patients.

Maybe the india doctors and their busses of experiment humans can at least give this a go so we learn something   Supplements to heal during consolidation discussion: Peptides, Steroids, HGH
