Okay, As we know, it's recommended to stay within the limit of 5 cms when lengthening the tibia, due to ballerina foot.
what some surgeons will do is what Me and my friend bodybuilder on the forum faced,
Our surgeon lengthened our achilles tendon, which did get our foot to 90 degrees but guess what? we can never run, jump or sprint again.
Why did that happen? Idk the scientific terms for it but once you lengthen the achilles tendon of an adult, it will never heal, Becomes elongated and you lose ALL your power to push- off the ground.

The reason why I'm writing this is because I had to go in and get my achilles tendon shortened by another surgeon  and had to actually reverse achilles lengthening, which Very few surgeons in this world would do, because none of them understand your issues.

What do you learn from this post? Don't lengthen your tibias to the point your ankle starts getting tight.
Now you will say , 'What if i already have equinus now what can I do?'
You can ask your surgeon to put on an external fixator and stretch your foot gradually out of equinus.
but DO NOT let ANY surgeon , Lengthen your achilles because that will be the end of your push off

and

I think if you go to a good surgeon in the first place, this won't happen.
Good luck and cheers !

That's why 3.5 or 4 cm is max in one lengthening for tibia. Above 4 cm is not worth the gamble getting irreversible achilles tendon issues.

How much will I recover if I stick to 3.5 - 4cm on tibia? I want to be 100% just like pre surgery in terms of athleticism

yes, 3.5 - 4 cm seems ideal and it would be IMPOSSIBLE for you to get into any trouble if you have a good surgeon.

How many cm can you lengthening the tibia before the Achiles tendon starts to stretch? I want to have a healthy AT just like before doing surgery. I've heard
Someone mentioning that the AT doesn't start to lengthen until you pass 4 cm. Is that true?

Well said.
Atl is a surgery that should be banned. Simple as that. All can live normally even with a slight equinus, noone can live normally with a surgically lengthened tendon because it creates insane push off power decrease, and a weak feeling in every step you take that makes you don't even want to walk. And also stability issues etc.

I was ruined after my atl and had my life back after at shortening I did 5 years later, after I found a doctor who understood my problem and was willimg to fix it. Most doctors thought everything was on my mind and all these because I had enough power to to single calf raises which meant nothing as I still had weakness and was walking with a calcaneal gait.
Now I have an about 2cm equinus which gives me no problem as I always wear 2-3cm insoles (for extra height and tendon protection) which becomes almost zero if I stand for about an hour but of course I have zero.dorsiflexion. I couldn't care less about it, I don't have any ankle pains nor tendonitis (I always had after atl because my weak overlengthened temdod tried to cope with walking).

To sum things up, avoid atl at all costs. If a doctor suggest it, change doctor. But no matter what, don't ruin your tendons for a few degrees of dorsiflexion becsuse they don't matter if you can't even have a normal feelimg when you walk.

i dont know when it starts to lengthen or stretch but by theory we know that , once a person passes 5 cm , it starts to get significantly tighter, and you have to realize this, once u start getting tight, U NEED TO STOP LENGTHENING.
It doesn't take more than 3-5 days to give you permanent damage
