how I said already, its not just done by building up your muscles.
When your rods allow full weigth bearing I would recommend to work on a proper posture while standing,
to work on changing point of gravity,simular to the walking and walking for short distances on a proper way.
We do work with our patients on treadmills in front of big mirrors. Its important that you can see, what exactly is wrong on your walk and how to correct it.
