I am planning for 5-6cm external tibial lengthening using external Ilizarov fixators.
I had my surgery 9days back and my lengthening has started. Right now I am at 2mm mark.
I am hearing this weird breaking or popping kind of sound from my left leg and there is pain in the bone where it is broken also the muscles in my left leg seems tight. Is this normal and expected?
One more Q's while waking up in the morning my entire leg seems tight and there is pain. After few hours it goes away. Any recommendation for this.

Thanks for all your support and advice!. Yes I am taking painkillers. I talked to my doctor and he said the pain is expected in initial days of consolidation. As suggested above I also believe the bones were growing back and when they were consolidated they were broken apart and that's why I'm having the pain. Let's hope it will reduce. Fingers crossed!!..
