I'm hesitant to ask this on a non-LL forum

Current plan: go to nearest dermatologist, show them scars, hope they do the treatment

Is it better to go to a dermatologist who is also a surgeon? Not sure how this works and what methods there are to flatten the scars (to flatten the scars before getting a tattoo)

It depends on the type of scar, but generally CO2 fractional lasers with some type of steroid injection like 4-fu is the gold standard.

And to be honest, leg lengthening scars shouldn't be a challenge for any dermatologist who has experience with scar revision.
