i am planning to get my femurs lengthened by 7 cm this december. but i have a mild discrepancy of 1.5cm to start with. one of my legs is shorted than the other by 1.5cm.
if i lengthen my shorter leg by 7cm and my longer leg by 5.5cm (5.5 because 7 - 1.5 = 5.5) and make them equal, am i 7cm taller or am i 5.5cm taller?

let us exaggerate the situation: one leg is 1 foot longer than the other, but no scoliosis.
when i stand with both my feet comfortably resting on the floor, my longer foot gives me no additional height. so my height is determined by the shorter foot.
when i walk, when my shorter foot is on the floor, i am short. when my longer foot is on the floor, i am tall. so it roughly fluctuates between the two.
as hobbitman said, there would be other factors like hip swing, posture which come into picture. so yeah 6-6.5cm gain sounds about right.
