Hello everyone,

I am scheduled for a 7cm limb lengthening procedure on my femurs using the Lengthening Over Nail (LON) method. I am currently 172cm tall and am an active person who enjoys sports.

I'm trying to set realistic expectations for my recovery timeline. Could anyone with experience or medical expertise share insights on when it might be feasible to start squatting again, specifically around the 7-month post-operative mark? I'm also very keen to know when I might be able to return to higher-impact activities like jumping.

Thank you for your help.

I think it depends on your squat PR. For example, someone who squats 200kg should be able to squat again sooner than someone who only squats 60kg.

Hi there,
Would it be possible for you to share some images of the external L.O.N. frame used on previous patients by the doctor you’re going with?

One more thing — have you discussed your intention to squat while having the L.O.N. femur frame with your doctor? I’d be curious to know what their medical opinion is on that.

Thanks in advance!
