I totally agree! Dont go to Betz (for the BetzBone)! You could go to Dr. koehne in munich if you dont want to leave Germany. OR ASK BETZ IF HE IS PLANING TO USE STRYDE SOON. I dont think he is a bad doctor or surgeon but his BetzBone is a failure!

Why are his nails (BetzBone) bending or breaking? He promotes his nails as if they are stable enough! That‘s just wrong. A doctor should tell patients what‘s realistic and not go just for the money. I was a huge fan of Dr. Betz and I still believe that he is a good surgeon! His BetzBone aren‘t as good as he promotes them! I just really hope he will use the Stryde nails soon.

Are you a patient of Dr. Betz?

Yes, I am a Betz Patient and I did lengthening with no problems. I ditches the crutches very early and weighybear. I was not even careful. In the past years his nail strength has changed a lot.
It would be nice if you don‘t give bad repuation
for something you never were in touch with.
I met so many patients who didnt do diary but lengthened successfully.
Keep in mind that 90% of LL patients dont share their experience, so dont rely on the forum.
Betz is one of the best out there for sure.

even if it's self selection bias of diaries, or if the nail improved over the year, it doesn't change the fact that 30% of diaries on the old forum involved mechanical nail problems.

And generally speaking, mechanical nails are barbaric compared to magnetic ones.
Even lenghthening means rebreaking your bone with a mechanical nail with all the drawbacks that has rehabilitation.

After full weight bearing nails like stryde noone should use again mechanical nails.
But still doctors like Betz and Guichet use them because they want to earn more money by having very high prices with cheap and obsolete mechanical nails that make their profit even more than using superior hitech nails like stryde.
Even for that reason (although there are many more) I would never do LL nowadays with that doctors, even if their reputation was good as before 5-10 years (which is not, especially for Guichet).
