Just received updated pricing from Dr. Mahboubian's office. Once again I'm not sure which doctor to go with now.

I do agree his marketing is a bit cringe worthy.

I've also tried contacting Dr. Paley's office 3 different ways with no response over the span of about a week. Bit strange.

I received a reply from Dr. Mahboubian's office within 15 minutes. That could be interpreted as good or bad

Hi OGfivesevener

I am a former Paley patient.  As you know, he is considered as the top doctor in CLL and he worked together to invent internal nails (Precice and Stryde).  This surgery is really tough.  You will have moments of regrets and blaming doctors or all kind of things.  Still overall I think Paley is a good choice.  Dr. R and Dr. M could be good choices but they are more expensive than Paley.  Dr. Lee still does not provide Stryde yet which is coming at the end of this year, although he is I think a good doctor.  And I don't have clues about the rest of docs.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input Ghost. I was pretty set on Dr Paley but then I decided to get pricing info from Dr. M and his office is telling me its a little over 70k for Stryde femurs. I was quite surprised so doing more research now.

Dr.M's price is quite different from the list. In that case, he may be not a bad choice.
Good luck!

Yup the new Mahboubian Prices put icing on the cake for me. though Giotikas seems good as well to me (after a quick 15 minute consultation) because It's cheaper and includes PT, the medicine through out the lengthening process, and walking aids, which Mahboubian does not include.

Yep, regarding the price, Giotikas is the best choice.  However, I just do not really know him enough.

My thoughts are even if I had confidence in both Dr. M and Dr. Giotikas equally, I don't necessarily feel I have confidence in the logistics of traveling to Greece for such a procedure. I'll also be alone. More unknowns to figure out.

With the price difference being less now, justifying the foreign travel isn't really on the table anymore.

This is assuming I'll come to the conclusion of being totally comfortable with Dr. Mahboubian. If that happens I'll be bugging the heck out of infullstryde!

It's good we have options and everyone has their reasons for which doc they decide on. I've decided on Dr. Paley for bilateral femur with Stryde.

Consult in June and Surgery in July pending payment.

Not much of a diary kind of guy but I'll gladly answer questions on the entire process once things get going.

Thank you all for the valuable information so far.

BTW, I'm starting at 5'7. Late 30s. Seems my wingspan is roughly 5"10.
