hey guys so im a 26yo guy from the UK (london) im 174cm and honestly ive been thinking for a long time about getting to 182cm or a bit above if possible. its like this number stuck in my head and i cant shake it lol. most my friends are around 180+ and i always end up feeling like the “short one” even tho i know 174 isnt actually short but yeah it still gets to me

so im looking at doing height surgery next year and im kinda confused what route is better… should i just do the full 8cm from femur in one go or do the quad approach like 5cm femur + 3cm tibia. i see different ppl saying different things, some say femur only is easier and others say quad looks more natural. idk honestly im kinda torn

also im gonna be straight about it i dont have unlimited budget so like my other surgeries ill probably do it in turkey again. i did my laser eye surgery there and also my teeth before and both were fine so im not too scared about going there again but obviously limb lengthening is a whole different level so i wanna make sure i choose the right doc

if anyone from here did surgery in turkey which doctor would you recommend? someone experienced and not some random cheap place pls. i dont want toxic replies or ppl telling me “dont do it” im already set on doing it just need actual recommendations or advice from ppl who know more than me

I suggest you forget about lengthening both the femur and tibia for an 8cm lengthening. Your proportions won't be ruined too much because of 3cm. You should finish 8cm of femur in one go.I am considering having surgery with Mustafa Uysal from AFA in about 2 years. He is one of the few doctors in Türkiye who values the future functionality of the patient. However, I recommend you read the diaries to make a good decision,

just my experience but 8cm on femur alone was enough and looked natural. nobody ever noticed anything weird about my legs or proportions. recovery wasn’t easy ofc, but it wasn’t the horror some ppl make it sound like either. dr fatih was super careful with alignment n stuff, he doesn’t let you go crazy or do stupid numbers.

if your goal is 182cm, honestly just do femur only. splitting it like 5 femur + 3 tibia is kinda pointless and just makes everything harder and longer. one segment is cleaner and heals nicer.

Got my surgery from Dr Fatih arslanoglu paid 44K$ February 2025. Rented an airbnb for 3 months there and got daily pt aswell. If you will do it there, i recommend you to rent a flat from seba suites its far cheaper compare to hotels and much comfortable.
