I see so many diaries of patients putting contacts of doctors and complimenting them after their surgery. Almost every post talks about the lengthening team. So much that some even put their email for queries in their diary. This makes me wonder.

Yes, this is one of my concerns. I think we cannot trust "diaries" very much, except if we have the time to follow them up for a while to try to subjectively evaluate their credibility.
I find it hard to happen that once somebody is so dependent on a doctor for everyday issues like pain management and things such as treatment of complications as well as its financial costs, they write things like "I feel I should have more painkillers", "this doctor takes ages to answer me", "the doctor is not very dedicated to pacients once surgery is done and payment done", etc....

Some patients become fans of their doctors of choice.  Many of my posts on old forum  about Dr. Mitkovic were criticized for promoting him too heavily.

There are certain ones I do trust, like Movie. But I’m always hesitant. When I do get the surgery I will write a diary on here for you guys. It will mostly be for myself because I think journaling your journey can help with the mental difficulty, give you a accurate marker of progress, and people provide encouragement.

Remember that reviewing a leg lengthening doctor is different from reviewing a restaurant. People will visit many restaurants, and multiple times, in a year, for every year.

A leg lengthening surgery is a once in a lifetime experience for almost all LL patients. Maybe a second one at most if they decide to lengthen their other segment. So a LL patient is only going to see one LL doctor and their team in their lifetime.

This is an excellent point, the LL reviews are going to be black and white.
