say, using precice, i think one can lengthen either femur or tibia to the full 8cm in one go with pausing&resuming if his soft tissues or bone not catching up.

but in practice he's just told to end lengthening at all. how and why this happens?

Theoretically yes. Lengthening 8cm for tibia and femur is physically possible. But medically no. Should you lengthen a total of 16cm in one go with quadrilateral lengthening, maxing out the nail? Probably not, lol

There is a reason why responsible doctors like Dr.donghoon lee and Dr.Paley have sequence programs that allows patients to lengthen 4 cm on tibia and femur for a total of 8cm, then after a year rebreak and lengthen for another 8 cm.
