Hi guys... I'm flying out this weekend to begin my journey to get limb lengthening.. It's been 3 years in the waiting.. Me and my doctor have organised everything.. I'm being picked up from airport and taken to hotel where I will stay for a few days before going to the hospital.. I'm kinda nervous but excited at the same time.. I'm having 4 to 5cm done on my tibias.. Your support would be much appreciated during this life changing moment of mine.. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.. In the meantime any encouragement or shared experiences would be awesome.. Let the journey begin Wish me good luck

I first contacted him in 2011 and was goin to do it then and I spoke to him for a while but didn't end up doin it.. I contacted him again but didn't quite have the funds.. I spent a year working really hard and saving more than double what I needed so I could be comfortable.. And he accepted and I booked my flight.-anised a driver and everything for me..

Hi guys... ive never felt so alone in my life as i hopped on the plane... i arrived feeling nervous and alone.. i was picked up by 2 men holding my name in the air.. They were extremely helpful and straight away made me feel comfortable as we set out for a 2 and half hour journey to my hotel.. they helped get me set up showed me around the next day and i was kept well informed..  I got to visit a couple of other patients who have already been through the surgery and i picked up some very helpful tips.. It put me at ease being able to meet others who are also going through the same experience... The doctor came visited me today at the hotel and answered any questions i had.. was very helpful... got me a phone with sim card and everything so i could contact him at all times.. i visit hospital on wednesday and surgery is due on the thursday.. ive decided to do 4cm minimum and if everything is goin well i might spend another 5 days lengthening to 4.3cm.. this way i will be satisfied but also keep it well in the safe zone.. so 4cm minimum and 4.3cm maximum..

Musicmaker, I've thought long and hard.. Adding 4cm makes a hell of a difference.. Even tho I'm only doing 4cm I will appear taller than that due to proportions.. I have relatively short legs compared to my torso.. So I look shorter than I am. 4cm will add length to my legs plus to my height giving an illusion of being  6cm  taller than I was if you know what I mean.. So say for example a  man is just over 5,9 but looks 5,7 and gets 4cm.. His actual height will got to 5,11 but he will now look 5,10.. Which is about 3 inch difference in what he appeared to be originally.. 4cm allows me to achieve a height I'm satisfied with plus keeping it as safe as possible but at the same time making me appear a significant amount taller than I appeared before

It depends.. I am goin to get mine slightly straightened at the same time cause they bow slightly.. It will probably add 3mm to to the 4cm.. Plus if I am 4.3cm higher than now I will be at a very nice height IMO.. In your case tho if you get to 4cm and everything is running smoothly than I'd say go for 5cm but I'd leave it there.. The extra cm I don't think would be worth it.. Don't get greedy you'd rather be safe.. I don't need more than 4cm to be satisfied.. But if your thinking 6 I'd say stick to 5.. Keep it safe

Hey guys.. Just a bit of an update.. I'm about 7 weeks in.. Had a few emotional problems at the start which slowed me down a bit..But I overcome them and have currently lengthened 1.3cm.. For the first 5 weeks I took it real easy and let the swelling go down in my legs before I started using the walker.. I used the walker first time A week ago and have improved dramatically since.. I will be posting a full diary once I have completed my journey but for now I'll be posting brief updates from time to time.. I have already learnt a lot about the whole limb lengthening thing.. So if anyone would like to ask any questions I'd be happy to try and answer them if u private message me.. Wish me good luck
