We all know that the safe limit for femur is 8cm and the safe limit for tibia is 5cm. Someone doing either of those could easily make a safe recovery and regain most of their athleticism. However, if you were to do femurs first and spend a few years recovering then go for the tibias for a total of 12-13cm, how would that affect your athletic ability? Would it be worth spending a year or 2 (or more) recovering the flexibility and explosiveness in your muscles and soft tissues? Or will you still lose just as much as if you did quadrilateral?

Safe limit for femur is 6 cm afaik.

Interesting, do you think staying within both safe limits means I could regain my athleticism even though that would still be 11cm?

Probably a decent amount. Really it come down to if you want 5’1 and athletic or 5’6 and not so much.

And tibia? For retaining athleticism, not the general 5 cm limit you often see mentioned.

I'd like to push for more height ofc but what height would you say is the furthest I could go while still being able to keep up with sports? I don't expect to ever reach my full potential again after any amount of LL but I'd like to still be able to be active

You should know that those are pretty general numbers and ultimately it depends on your bones' length. The true safe limit is based on what percentage of them you lengthen.

Well there’s no research on this, so take my post with a grain of salt, but in general my impression is that tibia’s are more complex due to the fibular and the Achilles’ tendon, so 3-4 cm I think is a safe range for retaining athleticism.

Again, I’m not saying you cannot do more and retain athleticism. There’s no real research on this. Just that tibias are tricky and more stuff can start getting complicated the more you lengthen past this range.
