Hello,

I don't encourage people to do 1mm per day on tibias.
I wanted to ask to the LL vets especially.

Has anyone ever done the surgery with 1mm per day on tibias and hadn't have ballerina foot or anything like that? 1mm is too risky to go.

Best Regards

You know I see people wanting to lengthen fast, but I think if possible the complete opposite would be the most favorable for recovery.

If it was possible to avoid pre-consolidation, I would gladly lengthen at a rate of .2-.3 mm/day. This is because it allows your muscles to adapt, and it likely has much better long term recovery results.

Remember the limiting factor is not the bone it's the soft tissues. Lengthening too fast will probably cause lots of stretching and scar tissue, which can result in permanent lowering of function long term.

She lenghtened 1mm per day until 5cm. And her recovery was the fastest and most outstanding I’ve seen on tibias so far

LOL!

If you lengthen 2 or 3mms per day you'll fck your soft tissue up! Just saying..

1 mm per day on tibiae is really the upper limit, but most doctors advise .66 - .75 mm per day, with maybe a couple brief periods of 1 mm per day interspersed with no lengthening at all during a day. A constant rate of 1 mm day is most likely not the usual for tibiae lengthening.
