Honestly, this is a first time that I have thought seriously about an LL procedure. Having said that, I went ahead with a hair transplant within a month after starting to research the topic seriously.
Coming back to the main question, I am about 5'10 and live in a country where 5'9 is the average for the younger generation. My goal is just to be better. For reference, my father is 5'8 and my mother is 5'7, and I feel like I was somewhat robbed. Most likely, I would be content at 5'11 but my current situation calls for some questioning.
Obviously, this time I will require more time to accumulate the sum (50000-100000) but I am still interested to have a discussion if it is even worth it in my situation?
Looking for anyone who did an LL procedure at 5'10 or for someone who has became more than 5'10 with their procedure - is there a great benefit of being higher than 5'10?
For reference, I am 25 years old (male). Appreciated!

I'd say if you're going through with any cosmetic procedure , it be best to focus on your hair that'll have a far greater impact on your appearance than two inches .
The only time two inches is worth it is when your shorter than 5' 7"
All I can add is that the hair not only improves the appearance (compared to being balding) but could also be used to improve the height perception through styling (by styling or spiking it up - requires dense packing though).
As per your response, are you suggesting that as long as one is at least average in the youth segment then they are fine? I would then say that this could be problematic when that average is below the average for the developed countries, given the globalism and the rate of travel. What I am trying to say is that 5'10 is closer to the average for the youth in the developed countries, even if it averages out to 5'9.5 where I live. To cut this short, being average is nothing special, so this is one of my catalysts for the procedure.
Quote from: TwinMusicom on October 24, 2019, 11:42:10 PMAlthough you may receive some hate for doing it, I actually do think that going from 5'10 to 6 feet will make you happier and feel better about your body. Also, it is safer and relatively fast to do 5 cm (2 inches) on your femurs with internals compared to lengthening more. Not to mention your legs are longer than most of ours so that could make it even safer since you are lengthening a smaller total percentage of your starting length.
I actually think the mental benefit will be significant, as silly as that sounds. Fortunately or not, there is something pleasing to the mind about saying you've just crossed the 6 feet mark even though its only a little bit taller than you are. For things like online dating, it will hands down help you because American women will see the 6, as shallow as that sounds.
Maybe consider Dr. Giotikas in Athens, Greece and tell us how it goes. His prices are much cheaper than other doctors who use the best/safest nail (the STRYDE nail, allows you to get off of a wheelchair much faster/recover faster). At 5 cm (2 inch gain), your risk is lower than the average patient. Americans can stay in Athens without a VISA for 90 days (you need your passport though). You can lengthen 5 cm in that time, with weeks to spare.
Or if you are wealthy, Dr. Paley is generally considered the best doctor (most experience by far). Dr. Paley doesn't care how tall you start out as, he will lengthen even people 5'10 and talks about how in theory, it should be safer for taller people to do this because you are stretching the leg a smaller percentage.
Good luck man, hope you come back to share your experiences! Prepare yourself from messages from people who are much shorter than you who will be judgmental or even resentful on this on this forum though.
First of all, 5'10 to 6 with a good posture (but no lifts) is almost going from the 50th to about 70-75th percentile among the youth in the developed countries. Taking the Pareto principle, as a man you want to be at least in the top 30 (ceteris paribus) to spark natural female attraction.
As per the safety, this would be my greatest concern. Given the current height, I don't want to risk complications. Hopefully, when I am ready for the procedure within the next couple of years, it will be even safer.
As per the 6' mark, most of the men inflate their height by 2" and this leads to the same distortion in the women's mind. For reference, I am being perceived as at least a 5'11 (with good posture), and even higher when wearing 1" lifts/shoes. However, the higher - the better. If the average is 5'10 and everything is inflated by 2", then the perceived average is 6'. All I am saying, the perceived height is increased, so the 6' is not so important, rather just being higher.
In RE Greece, I am in Europe, so that's good. As per the treatment, I read that Precise Stryde is one of the best, which comes with a remote controller. If I understand, I need around 50000 for the procedure and about 25000 more for the rest? 75000 is high but not impossible. As per the US doctor, who works out to like a double of that, is too far and too expensive. It could be better but less realistic - I would then feel like I would be living a dream instead of doing something more practical.

Get 2"+2" and wear lifts = 5'11. With good posture you'll give off a 6' perception. IMHO, 5'11 to 6'3 is the best, giving off a 6' to 6'4 perception. Otherwise, 5'10 is also not bad (from my experience, need other factors to compensate).
Quote from: KiloKAHN on October 26, 2019, 10:45:27 PMThe reality is if anything major comes up and your life is set back over a year because of it (Unicorn's case being the most recent one that comes to mind), you'll likely be wishing you could go back and not have done this in the first place. Also, just because you're at a taller starting height, it is not a hard rule that you'll have an easier time of lengthening or less risk of complications like some have suggested. There are guys who start at 5'11 and they get issues at the 1 cm mark and those who were around my starting height and they coasted through the whole thing. Everyone's body is going to be different.
You should absolutely feel that gaining 2 more inches is a necessity in your life. The Stryde nail will make it a bit easier than with other nails, but it's not like the nail alone can prevent issues like bone non-union, nerve damage, pulmonary embolism, etc.
Hi. Unicorn who went from 158.5 to 166? It's less than my height and more than I want to extend. Didn't read Unicorn888's story much but I understood that there was some complication. Hopefully, the doctor that I will choose will be better and that the procedure improved with time. Finally, I believe that this depends on the age and self-input as well, with younger people who put more effort into recovery doing better.
