By ''limb length theory'' you mean the threshold of 15/20% of initial bone lenght or the 7cm ''threshold'' (for some)?

Thanks. I suppose the 15/20, not necessarily 7 cm?

15% is roughly 6 cm for me, and 20% is about 8.1 cm.

Hi ReadRothbard,

You seem to be in the same boat as me as I too, plan to undergo LON Tibas. My goal is 6CM and 15% is just shy of 6CM. I think if you go for 7cm, you will need an Achille Tendon release. Which external device do you plan on going with?

Terrible idea due to recent political events.  I wouldn't go near there.

Are you thinking more strictly "conservative" (about for example 6 cm i tibias) or considering a "middle term" of around 7 cm if things are going fine during lenghtening?

One of the things that may change above 5 cm as you know is the need to stretch of Achilles tendon by surgery if physiotherapy is not enough and maybe at 7 cm this is more so than at 6 cm. Do you know if that can be detectable before removing fixators, maybe by observation of ballerina foot?

I will have a consultation with a surgeon (altough he doesn't do "cosmetic") next week, maily to make him questions and have previous Rx just to know if I can even be a candidate to LL or not, but I have noticed we are in the same path in some aspects and appreciate your sistematic and information approach to LL planning. That's why I'm asking you these questions to you too.

May I PM you?
