a friend's friend did 8 cm lengthening and broke his leg 3 years post op. he fell slighltly (not hard) from a small stair. he didnt weigh more than 70 my guess. he did external tibias with ilazarov. so i guess the bone is still weak enough after 3 years to break from such small jolts or just his badluck.

I think he broke it for pure bad luck, because when the bone regenerates it gets 2X denser, it's hard to break the new bone, I think he just broke his leg by pure chance and carelessness as anyone could break his leg, Let's be honest the people all over the world break their legs all the time , that things happen
could be but then again i got the chance to ask him and he reassured me it wasn't a fall thats supposed to break a leg. he thaught his pre-op leg would never have broken in tht situation. he is in fixators now for 5 months.
3 years is stil not alot as i rethink maybe the new bone is denser but it connected on weakly which would be the osteotomy site.
realy could a doctor confirm this
Quote from: hotty on September 26, 2018, 05:05:24 PMWas this the same guy you mentioned on the other thread who had his knees replaced? Or was it the other person with "leg issues"? Or is it a third person you didn't tell us about?

Did he break his leg after you made the other thread or before?
It's definitely unusual for someone normal to break his leg from a small stair. It is probably LL. You've seen some terrible complications of LL first hand (knee replacement, bone breaking 3 years after lengthening and other leg issues). Are you sure you want to do LL?
yes its the same person. and yes ive alrdy told u im sure. i will gamble. did u ever gamble in life? if u did ul know wat i mean.
Quote from: hotty on September 27, 2018, 01:41:10 PMI find it odd that you didn't mention on the other thread that he broke his leg. You mentioned knee replacements but not breaking of leg?
Anyway, out of all the LLers you have seen, it seems like all of them have had major complications. It's definitely a big gamble you are taking and good luck! Some gambles are worth it
i also didnt mention hes got severe ballerina and he cant stand more than 5 mins because his ankles hurt like hell. hes surrounded by plethora of problems. som resulted due to going more than 8 and some due to his badluck and negligence. its all cumulative in the end.

His bone maybe wasn’t consolidated enough.
thats wat i think.
he was 26 not old really. could it be because of some weak osteotomy at the time of surgery. we need some expert opinion on this.
