In a broader sense of the word, not all scams exist only to make money.  It's either a prank to get people to waste their time, or a really dumb/crazy person acting without malice but also without sense.

Your time has value.  Use it for something positive even if LL is forever out of your reach.

You are not losing time with LOA. It's not like there is an instruction that you must stay still while doing LOA.

You can do it while playing gaming, reading, shower, take a poop, eating.
