the only thing that compresses/decompresses is the spine after u lay down too long this is why people report morning height and afternoon height but the morning height only lasts 15 mins before ur spine slowly decompresses against ur body weight. legs cant get shorter so only thing that really affects ur height is spine. good posture adds a inch in height

Wrong, morning height last more than one hour, about bone shortening, it happen when some complication occurred such as non union, fracture....etc. Its easily avoidable with an expert doctor. Ask the doctor not people in this forum

I measure my height when i first wake up and about 15 mins again. was 5 cms shorter.

all jokes aside though the day i was referring to was also the first day i tried out sleeping positions that decompress the back and when i woke up i even felt that i was taller. most morning i dont feel a difference if any
