Sounds interesting:

QuoteThis research will assess whether vibration therapy can increase bone-growth in length of the shorter leg in children aged 6-12 years with pre-existing leg length difference (LLD) which is being treated with a heel-raise or orthotics. Children will be referred by orthopaedic and musculoskeletal clinics, physiotherapists and orthotists. Children will have monthly measurement of leg length (LL) over a 13 month period (4 months pre-treatment, 3 months treatment, 6 months post-treatment) using a portable Ultrasound-laser system which is safe, accurate, reproducible and validated against standing x-ray measurement. ...

I've already talked about it on HLT: https://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/threads/is-there-any-less-invasive-alternative-for-bone-lengthening-surgery.131185/#post-1962807

No, but I hope that it may also work with adult bones...  Can we Promote Bone Lengthening With Vibration Therapy?

It might be something that only works with open growth plates

Indeed. Difficult to say at the moment. So far R&D has been rudimentary and "conclusions" tentative at best...

The conclusion for this particular study was that using the three different intensities of LIPUS at 0.5, 1.0 W/cm2, and 1.5 W/cm^2 it was found that the emissions had no effect. There was no inhibitory effect and there was no stimulatory effect. If we were to be extremely accurate, there was a very slight stimulatory effect in the first two groups and an inhibitory effect in the third group, but the slight deviations were too small to be considered significant.

he longitudinal growth and bone density of the femur and tibia in young rats was measured after application of an ultrasound transducer emitting 1.5-MHz pulsed ultrasound (30 mW/cm2, SATA) for 20 min/day. After 28 days, no length difference was detected (< or = 2%) compared to the sham-treated leg or to unexposed controls.

a shame  Can we Promote Bone Lengthening With Vibration Therapy?

Maybe the Chinese will come up with some crazy procedure. They are known for their persistence and pragmatism.

If LL wasn't banned by China, I am pretty sure their would be more competition and the cost might have been lower.

I didn't know that it's banned in China.

Curious, especially when one thinks about their Lotus feet procedure. O_o

They banned the surgery because there were too many scammers pretending to be doctors that acted like they knew what they were doing. Maybe if China had a short president things would be different
