Wanted people who haven't or have done LL to try this test (be sure it's the kneeling one not standing) and report if you can do 5 inches or greater whilst keeping your heel down. 5 inches seems to be the golden standard. Just want to get a gauge of the normal population here. I can do 1 inch on my left leg and 4 inches on my right leg before the heel comes up. Obviously something wrong with my left. I am going to go to a doctor and inquire about possible reasons for its limitation. It's the leg I've had trouble with from the beginning.

I am pre LL.

 Can do 5-6 inches with my both feet

I can only do 2 inches Left & Right - that's after months of stretching & night splints...

Interesting you can do so little pre-LL. I've read that a minimum of 3.5 inches is needed for a proper gait and normal daily activities.

I can do 4.5 inches. I think it's just because I'm not really flexible. I'm not anywhere close to do LL yet so I'm not actively stretching at all honestly (unless I go for a quick job, but that's only to release some muscles temp.)

With 4.5 inches, my right leg is close to normal. I still can't squat or run adequately, but this limitation seems to be dependent on the status of my left leg. If I require surgery to correct it then so be it, because it is far behind my right for some reason.

My ankles are naturally inflexible. I tried and although I didn't measure both aren't anywhere near 5 inches. However they have never stopped me from sprinting/cutting/jumping properly. back squats have always given me problems so I either wear weight lifting shoes or work around it & do alternative movements.

I can sit on my haunches, squat easily, but I can't do the wall test, so I'm not sure what it means... does it mean ballerina is more likely during ext Tibs?

Yes, it means you will likely have trouble with ballerina. Keep stretching and using the night splint, set goals and you'll make it easier for yourself. Trust me.. ballerina is so difficult to deal with and get rid of once it happens. Prevention is much easier than reversal.
