hi people of this forum, im not a short person at 6'1 but I have somewhat of a narrow build, I understand it can be worse but being narrow sucks and ruins my confidence my dad has wide shoulders so I don't know how I turned out narrow probably my moms sh*t genes , I basically am looking for any info on this don't tell me weightlifting because that goes so far, honestly if you're short and have wide shoulders I envy you, but I'm literally desperately looking for anyone that has information on this because it has to be possible, I refuse to believe it isn't I'm sick of having this narrow build because I honestly feel like it's a Deformity when you picture shoulders you think wide not narrow I understand this may be some form of BDD but I'm happy and grateful for my appearance and the life I've been given , but I will literally do anything to look like I have broad shoulders so please let me know what I could do shoulder implants don't make your clavicles wider btw so don't suggest that there's gotta be someone on here that has info on this because when you have narrow shoulders it feels awful man I swear it's gotta be a deformity I rather be 5'5 with broad shoulders anyday I mean my shoulders aren't that bad when I inhale they look pretty wide from a distance I literally see people in public with no shoulders at all and honestly I think that's worse than being short, fk clavicles I was looking for shoulder pads but you can't really wear them in a t shirt, any advice preferably surgeons who would preform this type of procedure would help a whole bunch
I'm more interested in a clavicle reshaping, I'm not one of those guys that has no shoulders I'd like them re shaped into wide and like an inch added on each shoulder, hopefully we can find something soon because I've heard it is possible it's just that most surgeons don't like to do it for cosmetic purposes
Quote from: Jeez on July 16, 2015, 04:21:01 PMHow about working out? It will do wonders to your looks.
It seems to me like a lot of people are just looking for the easiest solution to their problems. Like taking a magic pill and expecting everything to be fantastic. Clavicle lengthening shouldn't be an answer, unless you're born with some sort of syndrome.
Strength training if done properly will change your looks radically. This is what I accomplished in a year:
Went from being overweight with narrow and poor posture, to a body I feel comfortable in.
Congrats on your progress man, if I could achieve broad shoulders by lifting I'd be all over it, but when you have a somewhat narrow structure it's not possible Also it looks as if you don't have a narrow structure genetically, or you're puffing out your chest, you might have had it from just bad posture
I know uppland, I'm not really trying to get taller, wider shoulders I think would look nice on my 6'1 frame I really don't care about proportions either I feel it's a little extreme to worry about that. All I'm looking for is info strictly on clavicle lengthening because I honestly doubt it's impossible, wider clavicle= wider shoulder
Quote from: patientdad on July 16, 2015, 10:43:53 PMThe shoulder is more than the clavicle. This would be an impossible task.
You're right about that, the shoulder is more than the clavicle but think about this the clavicle is from your neck to your shoulder, you're telling me extending it wouldn't work? the bone would be longer so that means the shoulder will be farther from neck which is basically more width, don't see how this wouldn't be possible
Quote from: Uppland on July 17, 2015, 12:05:03 AMIt would work I've spoken to a limb lengthening doctor about it, Dr. monegal. There was also a plastic surgeon who advertised this technique as "shoulder widening" claiming up to one inch could be added.
That's good news, I really wonder what the price would be since I have somewhat of a narrow build and I'd like it reshaped which would widen it by itself I'm assuming I'm only 18 but I'm really itching to get this done
Quote from: Uppland on July 17, 2015, 12:54:54 AMCareful though, Dr. Monegal said he'd only known it done for reconstructive purposes and he didn't know how it would affect the function of a healthy/normal shoulder. Also that plastic surgeon doesn't do it anymore and I don't know why, hopefully it was just lack of demand but maybe it just wasn't safe or practical.
yeah I know, I might have to go with deltoid augmentation but I don't even know if that will make them wider and broader in width
Quote from: Uppland on July 17, 2015, 02:57:23 AMThat's pointless you might as well build muscle in that case. The only way to make your actual bonestructure more horizontal is to lengten bones.
Yeah we gotta find someone who will lengthen our clavicles then, I don't even know why the surgery is not in high demand, I think it's more appealing than LL but that's just my opinion

yeah I saw that, that guy hasn't been on for a while though, surely someone else on here has to have experience.

Someone also said a surgeon in Beverly Hills openly does it, no idea about the prices but I think it would be around 10k
