The hypothetical guy in question is 5'8 or under and he would be making millions.

I seldom see short men in elite positions unless they are sitcom jokes.

I could have a good dating life even if I was broke af.

Define "good social and dating life".

If you mean "men will suck up to him for handouts" and "women will date him for his money", then yes.

If you mean "men will naturally respect him the way they do taller men" and "women will be genuinely attracted to him", no.

For context, I'm 5'5" and live in the US.

If they're 5'8" and rich, I don't see why this imaginary man would feel any roadblocks; he would be happy. They are average or at least very close to average in the Western world; add money and he's set for life. He is relatively normal compared to his peers, and taller than many women.

If they're very short, let's say 5'3" and rich, it will be harder to truly be happy. They might have a great social life because money will afford him that, but he will be constantly nagged about his short stature. You just know that someone will want to bring him down a peg or two (jokes like "why do you need a house this big?").

Of course.

I'm 5'8. I started dating my current girlfriend while I was a jobless uni student still living with my mom.

There are lots of good looking 5'8 guys slaying while peanut skulled, small framed 6'2 are watching anime at home.
